The Juliette dress is a romantic peasant dress with long balloon sleeves and a maxi skirt with hidden pockets. The rounded neckline has an elastic channel so that the dress can be worn both off and on the shoulders. The voluminous sleeves are gathered into elastic cuffs and has gathers on the sleeve head. The flattering pleats at the waist creates controlled volume over the bust and skirt. The Juliette dress has a waistline that sits slightly above the natural waist. The waistband is stitched down and has a tie belt as a unique detail. The center front button placket closes with 18 buttons.

Size range: European sizes 34-50/UK6-UK22/US2-US22.

Sewing difficulty: The pattern is suitable for intermediate sewists. You should be able to sew a bias binding channel for the elastic around the neckline, a button placket with button holes, pleats and a waistband. The pockets are optional.

Fabric suggestions: Choose a lightweight fabric with structure such as cotton, cotton voile, linen, linen/viscose blend, linen/cotton blend, cotton/viscose blend. A softer and drapery fabric will give you less volume.

Fabric usage: 4.5 meter (EU34) to 5.7 meters (EU50).

Pattern tester feedback:
Analuz: "Jessica had done it again! This is the perfect pattern for your collection of staple pieces. You can make it to wear year round! The level of this pattern is Intermediate: pushing your knowledge enough without it being a stressful dress to sew together. Would highly recommend it! I already have the next one cut up and ready to sew!"

Suna: "The Juliette dress is a romantic peasant-style dress which sits beautifully on the body with flattering pleats at the waist, a wide elasticated neckline and a voluminous skirt. There is plenty of ease in the pattern so I would recommend going down a size as the waist tie can cinch you in if need be. The construction is not difficult but requires patience what with the many pleats, buttons and button holes, however the end result is worth it. I made mine up in a broderie anglaise cotton which holds the silhouette so beautifully. Take your time with this one and enjoy your heirloom dress!"

Jen: "Love the silhouette of this pattern. It feels feminine and flirty. Without showing to much".

Isabel: "I absolutely loved sewing the Juliette dress. It was fun spending a little time on the details, which felt very special. I love that the waist belt & ties make the dress adjustable and I‘m in love with this dreamy, feminine and special dress!"

Juliana: "The Juliette Dress is a beautiful and romantic pattern. The silhouette is timeless, and lends itself to a lot of creativity with fabric choice. The instructions include step by step illustrations and are easy to follow along. I’d recommend sizing based on waist measurements, as there is plenty of ease in the bust and hips, and the belt allows some adjustability in the waist".

Marion: "I feel majestic and romantic in this dress. It's really a good model".

Annette: "I found this pattern to be a true labor of love. There are many steps involved and a lot of intricate details, but it comes together to make a beautifully stunning dress. With 18 buttons and multiple pleats on both the bodice and skirt, it requires some patience and time while you sew, but the end result is worth it!"

Manuela: "What I would say about this pattern: At first intimidating when thinking about pleats at the waistline, this pattern surprised me both in construction and look. Once I’ve added the elastic to the neckline and finished the waistband I was completely satisfied with this dress. And the process was pretty smooth , not intimidating at all. I love the romantic silhouette of Juliette and recommend this pattern to everyone who likes to wear a pretty dress".

Steph: "I found this pattern a really enjoyable sew despite the many buttons and pleats. They are all worth it in the end because the resulting dress has such a beautiful, romantic silhouette with it's billowing sleeves and voluminous skirt. Looking forward to making a second one in a different fabric!"

Shannon: "Another beautiful dress pattern. A little more involved than some other patterns out there but that is part of the joy of this sew. The pleats give great definition to the waist and the waist tie is a cute extra details. Perfect dress for swishing around in".

Isabel: "I loved sewing the darts and I love the results! I think the pattern is suited for intermediate sewists who will be rewarded with an extraordinary and detailed dress!"

Oliwia: "I had a lot of fun working on it! I adore the pleats in the middle, I managed to get them to match perfectly. I also love the shape of the sleeves, I think they are my favorite feature.”

Tea: "Juliette dress has one of the most interesting waistlines I have seen in a long time. Sewing all those pleats was worth all the time and effort. The dress is comfy and fun to wear."
